Mincom blood in TechnologyOne team

IT services group TechnologyOne has today announced the formation of a custom software management team led by ex-Mincom Asia Pacific program director Andrew Vellnagel.

According to TechnologyOne, the new business unit is designed to target government, health and community services, as well as the financial and utilities sectors with custom software.

A new project office has also been established and will house a team of over 20 staff.

"The new project office will ensure TechnologyOne solutions are implemented in a consistent manner using a world-class service delivery methodology, no matter where the customer is located or what industry they are in," said TechnologyOne chairman Adrian Di Marco.

According to Di Marco, Vellnagel's appointment was the result of an extensive search for a product director with "strong" vendor software experience.

"This is a key appointment for TechnologyOne as our project office will be responsible for ensuring our customers' solutions meet their objectives and are implemented on time and on budget" said Di Marco.

The company had also appointed several new solutions managers in 2009 as part of a "strategic realignment". TechnologyOne has appointed Melissa Harding to focus on the local government sector, Pat Fiumara for federal and state government, Brad Smith for higher eduction and Darren White for utilities. Health and community services, finance and media will be handled by Paul Curtis.

The team will be lead by former Tower Software chief, Martin Harwood.
