Software provider MYOB today announced the appointment of two new members of its executive team.

Dominic O'Hanlon has been brought into the role of chief strategy officer while Simon Raik-Allen has joined MYOB as chief technology officer. Both will report to chief executive officer, Tim Reed.

Raik-Allen, a systems architecture specialist, will be responsible for new product development. He has previously worked on the BigPond News portal and has held positions with companies including Sony, AOL, eBay, National Australia Bank and the Victorian Government.

O'Hanlon was previously a senior vice president at Oracle after developing and selling RuleBurst Holdings to the database giant in December 2008.

MYOB CEO, Tim Reed, said of the appointments, "We have spent the best part of the past year consolidating our internal processes. Part of this has included putting in place the very strong executive team we have today."

Reed also stated that MYOB was looking to increase research and development investment in 2010 as the company looked towards releasing new software solutions.

MYOB provides business software and services for independent businesses in Australia and New Zealand. The company was acquired by private equity firm, Archer Capital in February 2009.
