- Acrobat 8.2 for Windows and Mac

RE: Adobe warns of new Reader, Flash holes
This is now getting ridiculous.
russguill12th Feb 2010 -
Getting?
It's BEEN ridiculous.

Frankly, I am glad to see Adobe take responsibility ...
... for their products' terrible security and reliability.
At least they appear to now be taking their products deficiencies seriously now and appear to be doing soemthing about it.
So long as their fixes are actually solutions and not just band-aid's, then we'll all benefit from improved security and reliability in the coming months.

Agreed, although I'm also glad that...
..I have subscribed to Adobe's RPM repository, and so get notified automatically when the Flash plugin needs updating (again).
Zogg12th Feb 2010 -
Linux is safe
as usual. windoze is not.
Linux Geek12th Feb 2010 -
Hmph! That must be why Fedora just shipped me a new Flash plugin!
Ugh! The only reason my Fedora box is "safe" right now is because I've been notified of (and installed) an updated Flash plugin.
One box down, four more to go. Isn't Flash lovely?

Re:Linux is safe
Yeah, too bad Unix and Mac isn't.

Tipping Point
Adobe Reader and Flash removed from my system. There are alternatives
to use and I am tired of patching the patches!

Adobe warns that Flash creates security holes!
How ironic.
Adobe is warning us that Flash has created security holes
in our computers. And these security holes cannot be
fixed by the operating system creator - i.e. Apple,
Microsoft, etc.
Why on earth would we want Flash on the iPhone and iPad
and iPod Touch if it creates GAPING security holes which
cannot be fixed by Apple?
eh. Of course NOT! Apple will NEVER let Flash on the
iPhone, iPod, and iPad.
Flash is DEAD.
jameskatt12th Feb 2010 -
That's Why I Don't Use Flash in My Browser or My Phone
Maybe Adobe should fix their software first before whining that people think their software is unsafe and buggy - OOOPPPSSSSSSS.

RE: Adobe warns of new Reader, Flash holes
Down with Flash. Only two groups really need it. Adobe and
Flash developers. Flash is a bug on the internet waiting to be
squashed. Apple is ready to stomp Adobe with a big boot.
ConstableOdo12th Feb 2010 -
For some reason this seems to mean something to me?
Oh yeah now I remember not too long ago there was this tiny
uproar about comments Steve Jobs made about Adobe and as
iI remember it Flash. Who'd have thunk it!?!

I agree that flash sucks!
But html 5 has its own issue's regarding the video codec to use. Some people like mozilla wont use the h.264 container.
We will have to suffer a bit longer I think.
jdbukis@...13th Feb 2010 -
Misguided
@jdbukis
Sorry, but that's not an html 5 issue. That's a Mozilla issue. Don't blame
html 5 for Mozilla's problems.
Flash, OTOH, is a steaming dung heap - on ANY platform.
