Summary

Outlines an update to Web services management tools designed to improve inventory-keeping and scalability.

Software maker AmberPoint, which sells software to help companies monitor the performance of applications written using Web services protocols, outlined on Monday an update to its tools. AmberPoint version 4.3 has an automatic service discovery feature, designed to give network administrators an inventory of Web services applications running on a corporate network. The update, which is set for release in the fall, bolsters scalability and lets companies run thousands of Web services applications at once, according to the company.

AmberPoint also announced $8.2 million in new funding, for a total of $30.8 million in invested capital.
