The state Senate approves a measure that sets privacy standards for use of radio frequency identification technology in stores and libraries.
The California state Senate voted to approve a measure that sets privacy standards for use of radio frequency identification technology in stores and libraries. It passed by a vote of 22 to 8 on Thursday.

State Senator Debra Bowen introduced the bill in late February. The bill now goes to the Assembly where it will be heard in June.
