Cisco launches iPhone security app
Summary
Topics
The app, which will be available on Friday in the Apple iTunes store, provides information about new malware signatures, bulletins for how to mitigate against threats, ways to see if particular websites are compromised, as well as links to podcasts and videos.
The Cisco SIO To Go iPhone app gets its information from the company's Security Intelligence Operations (SIO) system which gathers information in real time from 700,000 sensors located at customer sites, ISPs and other sites around the world. The data from the disparate sources allows Cisco engineers to do threat correlation to detect internet attacks and spam campaigns.

Cisco launches iPhone security app
I wonder if the reporter asked them whether they had plans for Blackberries or Android?
Considering the number of senior people who use Blackberry's, I would have thought Cisco would have thought of that first?

No kidding.....
Wouldn't a more enterprise type of device be the first place for Cisco to focus on. Not sure why the iphone jumps way about blackberry in the enterprise, unless the iphone is very vulnerable to malware then I could understand why they targeted the iphone for this.

The iPhone "IS" the current business choice...
Haven't you noticed how fast Cisco was to release VPN and WebEx for the iPhone... Cisco is not a foolish company... They know the Berries are on the way out and that the Android is never going to make it big in the Enterprise... The iPhone doesn't require an expensive server and licensing... People like it better than the BB, more importantly, business execs like it better. So the IT trolls that are stuck on berries are not going to matter.
And from an IT perspective, the iPhone rocks. It's extremely easy, intuitive, and powerful. When Microsoft rose to power they attributed the rise to "the killer app"... The iPhone has over 100K of those Apps. The only speed bump to date has been AT&T. I doubt that is going to last much longer and that we will soon have a choice for the carrier.

I am not a blackberry fan.....
As an IT manager I will not let blackberry in our enterprise as it costs a boat load and the service is half ass. I only allow Exchange capable phones and the president of our company has an iphone. I just think blackberry does command a much much larger share of the business world with all their big corporate contracts was my point. We also have a manager with a Droid as well and it works fine with Exchange as well. I just don't think the iphone is at the blackberry level in the business world so sorry I was just stating the obvious, not sure where the trolling was.

No Android?
The idea that the Android is never going to make it big in the Enterprise is just silly. Not to mention the market share they're currently gaining with just the fact that the iPhone is ATT&T only.

No Android in my business
Android is just another Google spyware propagation machine. I doubt any serious Enterprise would let it in. Can you imagine anybody in the tech business having all their data stored on Google servers?
