Firefox 3.0.12 patches five 'critical' problems
Summary
Topics
"We strongly recommend that all Firefox 3.0.x users upgrade to this latest release," Mozilla said on its developer blog. "If you already have Firefox 3, you will receive an automated update notification within 24 to 48 hours. This update can also be applied manually by selecting 'Check for Updates...' from the Help menu."
Version 3.0.12 fixes five critical problems and one high-level security problem, according to the Mozilla security advisory site.
Mozilla is trying to move people to the newer Firefox 3.5, which offers faster JavaScript program execution, new privacy features, and a handful of technologies geared for more powerful Web applications.
And Mozilla is pushing the new browser hard. Security and stability fixes for the 3.0.x series will end in January 2010.

which version?
Forgive me but isn't Firefox at 3.5+?

Yes, but...
There are some people still choosing to use the older 3.0.11 version for whatever reason. As far as support is concerned, 3.0.x is now equivalent to what FF2.x became after FF3.0 was released. It's the older, still supported version, while FF3.5+ was the major update.

As a matter of fact, from the statistics we've seen on the web,
typical Firefox users do seem to be much better than their IE counterparts at updating to new versions. But some, like WhoIsDaMan, choose to wait, most often because certain favourite add-ons haven't been updated....

Extensions / Add-ons
Whatever you want to call them. There are many which still do not work with FF3.5. I have made the move with all my computers, but miss several extensions which I hope will be updated.

RE: Firefox 3.0.12 patches five 'critical' problems
The only reason I haven't switched to 3.5 is the RealPlayer Download plug-in doesn't work. I reluctantly upgraded to 3.0 or maybe 3.1 and lost that capability. I found some workarounds, but was never really happy with them. I just upgraded RealPlayer to the SP Beta and got the feature back in 3.1, so I'll just stay there until Real updates for 3.5.

RE: Firefox 3.0.12 patches five 'critical' problems
Who uses Real Player anymore? With so many other options in players, there is not an excuse to not upgrade to the latest version of Firefox.

Who uses Real Player anymore?
Realplayer customers
:3
do you have any other question?
Apparently Firefox is considering 3.5 as a separated branch than 3.0.x, hence you can bet that there are a lot more of users that still uses 3.0.x

He was being rhetorical..
With the obvious implication that only a moron
would still be using RealPlayer.
