Gemstar-TV Guide debuts on-demand network

Gemstar-TV Guide International on Monday said it plans to launch an on-demand TV guide network for Comcast and Time Warner cable subscribers, TiVo customers and TVGuide.com broadband users. The network will feature short, originally produced content to help consumers find the most interesting programming on television, Gemstar said.

In addition to weekly listings of entertainment programs, the service will provide information on special episodes and premiers as well as upcoming musical acts. The network will be launched this month on TVGuide.com and in the second quarter for Comcast, Time Warner and TiVo subscribers.
