Gmail becomes mainstream for businesses, Gartner
Summary
Topics
Google's Gmail service is now mainstream as an email provider for businesses, and rivalry between the company and Microsoft leaves little space for any other player in cloud-based enterprise email, according to Gartner.
Web-hosted services account for between three and four percent of the overall enterprise email market, the analyst firm said on Friday. In this relatively small sector, Google is a major player, it noted. While Google's share in enterprise email overall hovers at around one percent, it has close to half of online enterprise email, the firm's research has shown.
Nevertheless, the analyst firm expects Google's share of the overall enterprise email market to hit 10 percent within a few years. Online email services will make up 20 percent of the total market by the end of 2016, and 55 percent by the close of 2020, it predicted.

My question to You is, would you enjoy reading Chinese emails if it was or wasn't your job. Food for thought.
FYI: Microsoft just signed a pack with China. So what's your alternative? Hotmail?

@Return_of_the_jedi

I said would you enjoy the Chinese reading your emails, because they constantly get access to the Gmail servers and read loads of people's emails, hence why Google threatned to leave China.

I'm not a Chinese dissident. So should I worry? What can they do to ME via reading my emails in China. Garnish my wages? I just don't see what's all the paranoia is about.
PS. O i'm late but I just got it. Cuz it's Google.

Has GMail figured out how to sort yet?
Are they still arrogantly telling customers "thou shall not sort"?

"365 has no uptime."
Would you like for me to link to Google's outages? I didn't think so. I might also add that Google has no service and support. Ask all the companies who've tried. Google is a joke. They are incapable of servicing and supporting anyone, much less enterprise. They have don't even have support for consumers.
As for Office 365, I'm not sure what relevance it has to the article in question, but it's stomping the sh*t out of Google's competing services. LOL!

Why should Google care? They've been reading people's emails since they started Gmail. In fact, they are experts at it.
