Google has quietly started testing a U.K. versionof its shopping search engine, Froogle, the Internetstar's latest expansion. The Mountain View,Calif.-based company began experimenting with its U.S.
comparative shoppingservice during Christmas 2002 and hastimed its latest English-language
Froogle site for theholidays as well. The site--which is competing withU.K. rivals Yahoo Shopping, DealTime and Kelkoo--letspeople search by shopping category or by simply typinga product description into the search box.
