iPhone now available on Vodafone
Summary
Topics
Vodafone has sent me one of their iPhones, and the only distinguishing feature it has from my O2 version is the large range of apps which have been pre-installed for me to play with. End users won’t get that little extra, and so the only bases on which to make the decision of where or not to get your iPhone from Vodafone are network coverage, tariff and personal choice of operator.
If you are entirely operator agnostic, then price is your guide, and it is a complex matter to work out what the most cost effective option is for you.

Cost
If it is indeed just a case of the cost then you should buy the kit from Tesco, if the network matters then get it from Orange. They have the largest percentage of 3G coverage in the UK.
o2 on the other hand use outdated masts and base stations for 3g and even managed to lose the Three network when their entire network collapsed under the strain of managing both their own customers and Three's customers.
Ofcom are still waiting (2 years on) for a reason for the network outage and were told they were no longer allowed to host the Three network as their 3g network was not up to the job and Ofcom forced Three to join the Orange network.
The iPhone relies heavily on the 3g network so take my advice and bite the bullet and absorb the pennies that you would save with Tescos!

If you are after customer service...
Avoid Orange at all cost! Voda or O2 are unbeatable in this area.

I'd say the quality of journalism has gone down. I am
finding that an increasing number of journalists are
unable to write correctly or at least as good as their
predecessors. I'm sure instead of "bases" you meant basis
and instead of "where or not to get" you meant "whether
or not to get". Please use a level of professionalism.
