Microsoft apologizes for Meter Maid bikinis at Aussie Tech.Ed
Summary
Topics
Microsoft has apologized to any attendees at its Tech.Ed conference on the Gold Coast who were scandalized by its use of Meter Maid models as promotional assistants, explaining that it didn't know the women would turn up wearing bikinis.Meter Maids
"The Australian Tech.Ed team would like to sincerely apologize for any offense caused by the promotional staff who were manning the remote controlled car exhibit at the Tech.Ed welcome reception," the software giant said in a statement this afternoon. "We were unaware of their exact costuming until the day of the event, at which time it was too late to be addressed."
The Meter Maids attended the Tech.Ed launch last night and were initially welcomed by the predominantly male audience — 2700 members of the Microsoft eco-system in Australia. They dressed in their traditional gold bikinis that have been seen on the Gold Coast for decades.

who were 'scandalized'?
I would not be 'scandalized' over good looking women but over the conference itself that is used to spread FUD.

Well, maybe, but....
@Linux Geek
then at least make the women somewhat classy and appealing. The woman in the picture just looks trashy. The pants are way too tight and she has shoulders like a man. If the female figure has a place then at least make sure it is an appealing female figure.
On second thought, she may look quite good next to Ballmer.....

@Economister We are talking about the Gold Coast in Australia. Everyone there lives on the beach. They swim from an early age. Those shoulders come from healthy exercise.

I like women in bikinis but the one picture there isn't doing that girl any justice.

@Loverock Davidson
Well I hear that with her you don't have to compile, compile, compile. Apparently she also can play more than one sound at a time and while she is showing a lot her telnet port is thankfully secure!!!
She might look "trashy" but I think she's just "easy" You know... works right out of the box!! She doesn't stick to one "Vendor" either so there is no lock in... though you might be able to ask for that option!
Thanks goodness for Microsoft!

No need to change my name. I never have. I haven't responded to your tripe in months. And how exactly did you dis my "favorite os" and "spank" me? My post above clearly is over your head. I parrot you because you SPEND YOUR LIFE on these boards looking for two things: Microsoft and Linux.
You either a) are unemployed b) getting paid directly or indirectly to post flamebait c) or work for the government. There are no other ways I can think of where you can spend as much time posting to one site so often.
As to my choice of OS..... I choose the one I need, that does what I need, at the time I need it. I don't bother spending a great deal of time espousing or trouncing any OS. You, however, have a stalker mentality, outdated arguments, blatant bias, and lousy talking points. In short. You are the troll king. I tip my hat to your persistent (yet worthless) efforts sir!!

Cliches... Gotta love them... Though there is a difference between imitation and mockery. Though I doubt you get that either. "Win" all you want.... your self-ASSigned points are just mental m*sturb*tion.
Don't get me wrong.... Stick around and never stop. Every town needs it's idiot and in you, we have ours. I finally found another reason you may be here so much... you are living in you parent's basement and/or are just a teen. After reading so many of your posts it all makes sense now.... Good troll!! Here's a bit'o flame bait for ya! eat up!!! Good little troll!

No Gender Bias in This Profession
The article fits in nicely with the sponsored links I see: "Want a Girlfriend?," "Romanian Women Online," and "Mesh Bikinis."
P.S. I see the links change when the page refreshes. Add "Cuban Women Dating" to that list.

Mesh bikini ads????
@russdwright@...
I have not seen any mesh bikini ads!!! Why is that???
Oh, I forgot, I use Firefox with Ad Blocker Plus, that crap gets banished to `/dev/null`.
fatman6553525th Aug 2010 -
Adds? What are these adds you speak of??
@russdwright@...
Dude, If you used the Windows "Hosts" file you wouldn't see any adds in IE6. 7 or 8.
Works better than ad block. Free too!
