Summary

E-mail services firm FrontBridge Technologies will continue to provide support for Microsoft Exchange as well as rival e-mail servers.
Microsoft said on Wednesday that it has completed its acquisition of e-mail services firm FrontBridge Technologies. Microsoft said that Los Angeles-based FrontBridge, with its staff of 150 people, will operate as a wholly owned subsidiary but will continue to offer support for both Microsoft Exchange as well as rival e-mail servers including IBM's Lotus Domino and other SMTP-compliant servers.

"We are really excited about finalizing this acquisition so we can bring the FrontBridge team and their advanced services technology into Exchange," Dave Thompson, corporate vice president of the Exchange Server Group at Microsoft, said in a statement. Microsoft announced the deal last month but did not disclose the purchase price or other financial details.
