Napster, Tower align with new mobile channel

Reuters/Billboard | December 7, 2007 8:41 AM PST

Napster's Japan division has partnered with Tower Records to provide music and other content for a new music channel from mobile operator NTT DoCoMo.

The channel will carry the Napster/Tower brand and offer two programs a week comprising about eight to 10 full-length tracks. "Napster Hits" will focus on new release and chart hits while Tower's "Must-Hear Recommendations" will feature playlists by genre as well as classic hits. All will have links to buy the full track via the Napster Mobile service, as well as download via Napster's mobile subscription service.
