Nintendo president: 'The Wii has stalled'
Summary

Nintendo said Thursday that sales fell 34.5 percent to 548 billion yen (US$6.09 billion) during the first half of its fiscal year.
Nintendo's slipping performance has not gone unnoticed by the publisher's president. As reported by Japan's Mainichi Newspaper and translated by GameSpot, Nintendo executive Satoru Iwata told analysts and investors as part of a post-earnings Q&A that a weak software lineup has contributed to the Wii's sluggish performance.
"The Wii has stalled," Iwata said. "Games of high demand could not be continuously released and the good mood has chilled." Iwata went on to note that it will be difficult to recover from "the slowdown in demand", but he also expressed optimism over Nintendo's ability to continue selling Wiis.

PS: I dont have a Wii... and I dont want one atm... too manny things to play comming up my current console/PC.
Nintendo should focus on making development easier while improving the performance of the system and matching the motion sensing accuracy of the new PS3 controller.
If they combine that with good marketing sales will increase.
Also given it's appeal to females, doing something as simple of offering it in different colors could stir interest.
Also improving controller performance won't sell more consoles, it will just get those who already have them to upgrade their controllers if a particular game needs it (for instance, Wii Resort comes with an attachment that improves performance in the controller). There's not a whole lot of profit in that.
Your color point is pretty good though.
I know I haven't seen many compelling games, just lots of the same stuff.
Great article, thanks for sharing this post.
Nice way of explaining this subject, this line of content is very interesting.
