Paul Allen diagnosed with cancer
Summary
Topics
Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen has been diagnosed with cancer, according to a memo sent on Monday to employees of Vulcan, Allen's company. Allen, who is a survivor of Hodgkin's disease, has been diagnosed with non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, according to Vulcan CEO Jody Allen, who is also Paul Allen's sister.
Fellow Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates said he and his wife, Melinda, were keeping Allen in their thoughts.
"Melinda and I have Paul and his family in our thoughts and prayers," Gates said in a statement. "Paul is among my closest friends, and I know to him be a strong and resilient individual."

I don't recall you as being so generous to
Steve Jobs when he was out for awhile.
AdventTech6717th Nov 2009 -
You sir, are a scumbag.
Nice move, scumbag, trying to turn it into an Apple vs Microsoft argument.
You are sickening.

I second that
Disgusting. Truly disgusting.
NonZealot17th Nov 2009 -
As are you...
His point was about double standards. Very few people from the "Microsoft side of the street" were showing anything resembling compassion regarding Jobs when he was out with his health thing.
That being said, neither case (Allen or Jobs) is one where people should be anything less than charitable towards them. Cancer etc is just nasty.

LOL
If only I cared what you thought of me!
But alas, I do not.
I called the scumbag out for doing something wrong. You don't like it, hard cheese.

Laugh it up...
But you didn't "call a scumbag out" or anything close.
You wrongly concluded that pointing out a double standard (where one guy is worthy of sympathy and another in the same sort of boat isn't) is being a scumbag.
Here's hoping that you're more magnanimous regarding people with nasty health issues than it appears you are on the surface.
zkiwi17th Nov 2009 -
I agree: Cancer is just nasty
All in favor of cancer being nasty, say "aye"?

Disgusting
Congrats, you managed to turn a man's cancer story
into Apple vs MS. You should be ashamed of
yourself.
Disgusting.
NonZealot17th Nov 2009 -
Nah, that's you...
You're one of those who were at best uncharitable about Job's condition, and here you are all compassion and care for Allen.
You're one of the disgusting.
