Sun touts Solaris-on-Intel customers

Sun has offered Solaris for "x86" Intel computers for years, but only recently began selling Intel servers as well. Sun Chief Executive Scott McNealy said in a September interview that if his company has pushed the Intel version of Solaris harder, it might have come to occupy the position of influence that Linux holds today. Santa Clara, Calif.-based Sun has registered 300,000 licenses for the x86 version Solaris so far.
