Via guns for embedded computing

Taiwanese PC component maker Via Technologies has begun an effort to better enter the market for embedded computing technology, the company said Wednesday. The company, which sells Intel-compatible processors and tiny motherboards such as the 12cm-square Nano-ITX, hopes its low-power systems will be used in devices such as factory robots, in-dash car computing systems, consumer electronics and gaming devices.

The company named Steven Lee to lead the newly created Via Embedded Platform Division.
