Zune phone rumors resurface
Summary
Topics
Although the likelihood of a Microsoft-branded handset has been repeatedly denied by the software giant, a post from one of the firm's Twitter accounts suggests otherwise.
@officethemovie, which generally exists to direct Twitter users to the promotional website for the next version of Microsoft Office, posted on Tuesday morning: "New product launch, that's all I'm allowed to say. Hold off from buying an iPhone/Pre. :)"
An earlier post on Monday said: "June 2009 will be an important month for Zune lovers."
Therefore, the rumors are back. At least, with a June timeframe, we will not have to wait too long to see if they are what we expect.

just rumors to stay relevant
Unlike Apple, M$ is bad at keeping secrets, so I doubt there is any new phone comming.
The only way that could happen is if M$ takes an existing phone and slaps the Zune logo on it...not quite 'new' phone.

So you admit they are still relevant.....
good to know, didn't think you held Microsoft is such high regard.

If they try a Zune phone
all that will happen is the makers of Windows Mobile phones will jump ship, probably to Android. Not a smart idea.

Why Does Microsoft Come Late To The Party??
Stick to the OS and Video game market, you are making fools of yourselves.

There's late and then there is Microsoft Late......
How long was the Play Station out before Microsoft decided to come up with the idea of the XBox????
cpt_slog@...12th May 2009 -
They are two completely different products
My guess is that the first tease is for the new version of Windows Mobile and the other one is going to be for the touchscreen Zune. I don't think Microsoft will make a phone, ever.

RE: Zune phone rumors resurface
Okay, why has no-one mentioned the fact that the rumored name of the 'Zune Phone' is the Zune HD. It seems awefully suspicious that Microsoft has a project based on the Zune Phone Concept. If you all would just stop and think, who is it who is running an OS on everyone's smart phones. Plus, Microsoft has more smart people than you give them credit for. You do know that half their team are known as ex-Hackers, or ex-virus writers. They can make a Zune HD Phone with no trouble. Deuces,
