NextDC is set to plant its flag in Western Australia after entering into a conditional agreement to buy land for a new datacentre in Perth.

NextDC has entered the due diligence process for the land and, if all goes well, will acquire the site in mid-July, the company said today in a statement.

The site meets Slattery's requirements outlined at a Gartner conference in March, as it sits close to a power substation and communications infrastructure, 11-kilometres north of the Perth CBD.

NextDC expects to have 3000 square metres of usable floor space in the datacentre, which is expected to go live in mid-2012 if all goes to plan.

The news comes just days after NextDC completed the due diligence process for a site in Macquarie Park, which is expected to go live in quarter three of 2011.
