Presented by ZDNet and developed in partnership with Charles Sturt University, NextGen CIO is an education program that helps IT managers take the fast-track to business leadership.
This intensive 5-week online course, running from the week commencing W/C 28th January to W/C 25th February 2013, will equip you with the leadership capabilities that IT professionals must blend with their core technology knowledge to make a contribution to the success of their organisations and also accelerate their career development.
Fifty successful applicants will be selected to participate in the NextGen education program that's valued at $4,800, free of charge.
At the conclusion of the course a selection of the best performing students will be invited to continue on to the CIO MasterClass which will see them paired with some of the country's leading CIOs in a private mentoring and development program.

As CIO at McDonalds Australasia, Henry Shiner is responsible for IT strategy and implementation at both a corporate and restaurant level. He is a member of McDonald AU's senior leadership team and plays a key role in driving the business' overall strategic direction. Prior to McDonalds, Henry's career encompassed senior IT roles at Fletcher Challenge Paper and later at Norske Skog, the world's largest newsprint Company. His role expanded to take in Global responsibilities for IT Strategy as well as Vice President, Business Information and Planning for the Australasian region.
CIO, Coca-Cola Amatil
As the group CIO at Coca-Cola Amatil (CCA) Barry has the responsibility of heading the IT organisation as well as delivering the OAisys program, Coca-Cola's technology refresh program. Prior to Coca-Cola, Barry enjoyed a successful 20 year career with Colgate-Palmolive in a variety of roles, his last the Vice President for Global IT. His extensive IT leadership experience includes roles based in USA and Malaysia, where he led the transformation program across Asia, replacing systems and establishing a regional shared services platform.
CIO, Seek Limited
David Gibbons brings over 20 years of IT experience gained across Europe, USA, Asia and Australia. Prior to SEEK, he held senior roles with Nike, GAP and GE. His industry experience includes consumer goods, financial services, utilities, retail and telecommunications. David has a Masters of Business Administration, and is a certified Executive Coach. He is founder and CEO of Coaching for IT, an organisation that helps develop IT professionals and teams to achieve extraordinary goals.
CIO, General Motors Korea
Pierre Matthee has 38 years of IT experience gained across South Africa, Australia and Korea. He worked in and consulted to a wide range of industries, including Manufacturing and Law Enforcement. Pierre previously held the role of CIO at GM Holden and is currently the CIO for GM Korea. He takes an active role in developing the next generation workforce. Within GM he is a mentor to IT leaders in Dubai and Uzbekistan as well as for non-IT staff in Korea, providing a cross functional perspective on their career development.
CIO, Suncorp Life
Fiona Floyd has 20 years experience as an IT executive in Financial Services, Insurance, Investment Banking and Construction industries in Europe and Australia. She brings a unique blend of consulting, program and line management skills to her role, with a focus on delivery. Fiona is passionate about developing people and teams to achieve strong business and IT alignment, and is a keen advocate for women in senior leadership.
