Microsoft looks set to officially release Office 365, its rebranded set of cloud-based business tools, on June 28.

The launch was revealed in a post to Twitter on Friday by Jon Roskill, a vice president in Microsoft's Worldwide Partner Group.

"June 28th is the date for General Availability of Office 365," Roskill wrote. "100,000 real customers on beta...Partners, are you ready?"

The Office 365 package, released in limited beta in October, brings together the 2010 versions of Exchange and SharePoint, as well as the Lync video conferencing tool and Office Web Apps, for delivery in the cloud. It is an update to and extension of Business Productivity Online Services (BPOS), which it replaces. It will appear in two versions, one for enterprises and one for small businesses.
