Oracle OpenWorld 2012 officially starts on Sunday with a keynote address from the company's supreme leader, Larry Ellison.

While the CEO has offered some hints about what we can expect to see announced during next week's expo (see: more about Oracle Cloud), the global hardware and software giant has published some concrete numbers about the conference itself.

Oracle has a customer base of roughly 390,000 with 15.1 million developers scattered worldwide. Suffice to say, it's going to be a big event.

Here's a snapshot of what this year's OpenWorld is going to look like:

  • 50,000 attendees from 123 countries
  • 1,000,000 expected online attendees
  • 2,523 sessions scattered across 14 venues in downtown SF
  • Only 40,942 seats for sessions, which accounts for 81 percent of attendees
  • 3,750 total speakers
  • 457 partner and customer exhibitors
  • 406 Oracle demos going on
  • 300,000,000 social interactions expected across 126 Oracle social properties
  • Expected impact to SF Bay Area: $120 million
  • Number of cups of coffee served: 142,000

Certainly to get through all of those sessions and demos, those cups of coffee are going to be necessary.

In the meantime, be on the look out for one of those San Francisco taxis with Rimini Street signage on top. While the advertising scheme is a bit tongue-in-cheek, you could win a few prizes just with a tweet.
