A range of Oracle enterprise mobile apps are gaining voice capabilities from Nuance Communications.

The companies announced Wednesday a multiyear agreement where Oracle will utilize Nuance Cloud Services to give speech recognition and synthesis to Oracle apps for ERP, SCM, CRM, and HCM, Oracle Eloqua Marketing Cloud Service, Oracle RightNow Cloud Service and Oracle Taleo Cloud Service.

Nuance said the ideal outcome of the partnership would be for enterprise employees to realize the same amount of productivity while on the go as they do at their desktop. Nuance believes adding voice and language capabilities to enterprise applications will make that possible.

According to Robert Weideman, EVP and GM of Nuance's enterprise division:

The future is limitless for transformative employee experiences and for improved quality, velocity and simplicity of enterprise information exchanged between employees and their organizations.

Alan Fothergill, VP of Oracle applications development, was equally enthusiastic about the potential that voice capabilities bring to the company's enterprise offerings:

Mobile smart phones and tablets are quickly becoming the leading devices for interacting with enterprise applications, and Oracle has led the way through our broad set of mobile apps. Working with Nuance, we are also leading the way in using speech interfaces to make it easier and more natural to interact with enterprise solutions.
