  • The 27in. iMac's aluminium back panel looks striking, but it can become quite hot after prolonged use of graphics-heavy applications.

  • Connections at the back comprise a pair of audio jacks, four USB 2.0 ports, a FireWire 800 port, a Mini DisplayPort and an Ethernet (RJ-45) port. Wireless connections are Wi-Fi (802.11a/b/g/n) and Bluetooth (2.1+EDR). You'll need to pay extra for adapters if you want to connect external displays via DVI (£25), VGA (£16) or dual-link DVI (£69).
