Ubuntu doesn't want to put a Linux desktop or browser on your TV. They want to make their Unity front-end your universal TV interface no matter where you're getting your video stream.

This is another sign that ubuntu is lost and doesn't know where or how to focus itself. It's sad to see a once promising OS dying like this.

Why so much negativity? Maybe this is what Ubuntu is ultimately suited best for. It has its DVR roots firmly planted already, who is to say that it wouldn't really shine in this environment.
