How disgusting!

That made me really sad. I'm sure they don't even understand their customers feelings. I wish ATi has never been bought by AMD.
Anyway we are forced to change our love.

Stupid. ATI is so recognisable, don't shelve it...

I worked at ATI when AMD and was laid off several months later. I was on the design side of Marcom team, what AMD brought in, what they thought was good branding and design was so aweful I gladly took my money and ran... ATI is carrying AMD right, the deal was a disaster to ATI and Canadian HiTech which never should have happened.

AMD, You Idiots!! The ATI name goes with graphics cards, you should leave it that way. Why can't you leave things the hell alone. If you're going to be that stupid in your business decisions, then buying your products would be a mistake.

I run Linux exclusively and for me ATI has always been Super Penguin's kryptonite. I'd be glad to see the end of it, especially if the driver situation improves as a result, though I suppose there's no particular reason to believe it will.

@ tugger777
funny I think of Radeon as the graphics card, not ATI. Although hopefully the compatability will improve under AMD for Linux.

@zclayton2

My first ATI video card was a Rage II+, way before the Radeon brand started, so for me it's ATI which is the video card, not Radeon.

Anyway, about compatibility, I wouldn't hope for too much changes, as far as I understand, they're just rebranding (basically changing the sticker on the thing), not changing the way they do business.

And don't you think it would feel weird to have an AMD video card in an Intel computer happy

I still remember. I had it Fed-Exed from the other side of the Atlantic. It was smarter and more flexible than the Hercules graphics card. That's brand value. I still remember
