Apache OpenOffice 3.4 makes official debut (screenshots)

Version 3.4 of Apache OpenOffice is Apache's first since Oracle donated the free office productivity suite to it in mid-2011.

Its new features include improved ODF support, including new ODF 1.2 encryption option,  new spreadsheet functions, an enhanced pivot table support in Calc and enhanced graphics.

It is is available on Windows, MacIntosh and Linux and in 15 languages. For more, read Paula Rooney's blog.

    I'm looking at these pictures and it looks just like Libre Office. I've had that for over a year. And it wasn't that different from the Open Office version I used two years ago.

  • Boring, very boring!

    I think the shading behind the buttons is improved. The cartoonish UI is a little more colorful. But as Office advances, OO and Libre Office continue to improve on a UI and underlying engine that is, well old.
