While at an AMD press conference, David Berlind captured some photographs of what apparently is a prototype of a discreet graphics card with ATI's R600 technology on it.

IAANM, AMD said at the outset of the ATI acquisition that they were not ditching the ATI brand name, at least short term. And this makes sense: a large bit of the customer awareness is by that brand. People know that for high-end graphics, there are two main names, ATI and NVidia. AMD is smart to not mess with the naming/brand until it at least has a chance to integrate the new "business unit" into its overall operations.

AMD verses ATI graphics card....who?

Hmmmm, so the question is, based on the logo pasted to the front side of the R600 does AMD really and truly sell graphic cards? Seems to appear that we have one really messed up company with a lack of self identity.
