since it's a Dell, it'll be a great-looking paperweight as usual,
in about 12 months...

I run a 17" Precision M6400. While heavy, it is relatively thin and definitely powerful. I am no stranger to Dell but don't care for what I am seeing as innovation coming from them.

I can only speak to my experience but Dell has never let me down, which is more than can be said for our business HP laptops, which have had 35% failure rate.
