Facebook for BlackBerry 2.0: What's new?

A quick look around the new Facebook for BlackBerry 2.0, including a new user interface and integrated chat.

The new user interface is designed for touch-screen phones like the Torch and Storm, but also works brilliantly with non-touch screen phones like the Curve and the Bold.

Key information is now viewable on profiles and pages, such as contact information, basic information like birthdays, hometowns and relationships statuses, as well as likes and interests.

Facebook has added the Chat function to the new version of the popular social networking application, allowing you to chat with your friends whilst on the move.

You can do all that you did before hand, like checking into Facebook Places and see Wall to Wall posts. But now you can click the plus 'More' symbol to interact better with those you are connected with.

A new way to navigate through Facebook, the static navigation at the top of the screen is now replaced to a drop-down navigation control which is scalable for new features in the future.

Blatently 'stolen' from the Today View that BlackBerrys innately have in OS 6.0, the notification bar allows you to easily access all of your notifications, including chat, messages and wall posts from anywhere.

Now you don't have to leave the application to see what's new on your smartphone. The external notifications header now lets you see when you have new messages, emails and notifications from other applications.
