Got a EEE PC netbook a few days ago. Nice and small, however right now I am using my Macbook Pro.

A netbook just isn't a laptop and Windows feels quite out of place. It was not designed for the small screen and you can tell.

I installed Ubuntu 9.04 Netbook Remix and this looked more like it. The OS is quite cut down to the small screen size and I really liked that. The applications however are not optimized for the screen size and I re-installed Windows again.

The OS should really fit the usage of the netbook: note-taking (not too much please), email checking (not really writing), some surfing the web and IM/Skype: by the looks of it the Intel engineers have a winner!

Fedora is in my opinion the 'best' all around Linux distro for me.

HOWEVER, the beauty of Linux distro's is choice and others have LOTS of options to choose form to customize to their needs.

happy

Long live the power of CHOICE and Linux distro's will topple the MS quagmire that is eroding around them slowly but surely.
Very slick interface. I like the clean and simple organization.
Makes it seem more like a powerful PDA.
Another of the many faces of linux... Is Moblin a linux for the mobs? I would hope the menubar is user configurable (e.g., replacing/deleting an icon/app, moving icons around, changing obtuse icons). Applications 'tab' seems to be where to 'start'. Reminds me slightly of Presto, but that's not a standalone.
