  • The Fossil MetaWatch is watch that becomes an auxilliary display for notifications from a smartphone. See the full review on ZDNet Mobile News.

  • The watch vibrates briefly to signal a notification is arriving, then displays the message briefly totally hands-free.

I can has? Also, iPhone support anyone? I would suppose not, but it'd be awesome if it did. That would just be icing on top of the re-vamped notifications in iOS 5, which are stellar, by the way.

@pjskeleton iOS support is in the works. :)

Does it also have the little rocker arm that comes out the side as an alarm to wake you up?

I wonder how the battery is with this though... otherwise, bland design but cool idea! (Microsoft's old MyWatch or whatever it was comes into mind).

Did anyone notice it has the temp wrong? 72 or 77?

I think that was just for Houston.
It apparently shows the temperature in foreign countries.

Don't get it - why wear a watch to report what's on the face display of your phone? Just look at the phone! waste of space (O BTW the phone has the time on it too and everything else this is supposed to do) - waste of space

@ss3e55 It's easier to lift your arm for that info than to pull your smart phone out of a holster, bag, pocket or whatever. You don't even need to hold anything. One the things I really like about watches as opposed to checking the time on my phone.

I don't know. The watch is ok, I guess. But I'm more intrigued by the gold bracelet of the watch wearer - ya know, it being a shiny object and all...

  • little, little, little displays....

I had a elder distinguished client in my wireless store who asked me: Peter, the cell phones are punishing my sight, what I can do? I didn't know how to reply. Now, I am feeling the true weight of his problem. This small displays are killing my eyes, I carry with me every where netbook, because without my reading glasses I can't see anything on the screen of my smart phone. Simply I become enemy of all small screens, because we need our sight for a liitle bit more, not only for our electronic gizmos...

I like the tow hooks - but why does it need three?
    Can't be that heavy.
