For comparison, here's the Saturn V rocket liftoff for Apollo 11. The Redstone rocket stood 83-feet high while the Saturn V was 363-feet tall.

    It was a significant achievement but still... is being shot like a bullet over a balistic trajectory in what's essentially a V2 rocket a space flight?

    Delighted to have this gallery - I was there as an elementary school kid when he was launched and shook his hand in the parade in Cocoa Beach when he got back.
