Gallery: Google Chrome on Android Tablet

Summary: The newly released Chrome for Android beta is a full port of the Chrome browser for desktop operating systems and is intended to eventually replace the built-in Android browser.

  • Chrome for Android is built on the version 16.x tree of Chromium, which is the stable desktop build.

  • The mobile Chrome browser supports many of the same features as its desktop cousin, such as popup-blocking and adjustable fonts.

    Sweeeeet! Hope it becomes available for Honeycomb tablets, too sometime. But as I'm saving my pennies for a Transfomer Prime anyway, I'm gad to know the browsing experience will be second to none!

    Well at the moment at least. On my ICS tablet the "Browser" is much smoother. Hopefully Chrome on Android will grow into it's name.

      Are you suggesting that their 'generic' Android browser DOESN'T reveal anything to them?

    Also....bad news appears the new Android/Chrome/Beta browser does not work with the MIPS chipset that runs many of the newer/cheaper Android tablets (of which my Novo7 Paladin is one).
    DARN. Now what?
    Is it more likely Google will develop a compatible version of Chrome.....or more likely Novo will upgrade THEIR product? Or, neither?
