Gallery: Google's UI dreams on iPad

With the grand unveiling of the Apple iPad tablet, developers are having a field day envisioning how operating systems would look like and work on the new hardware. Google has posted some user interface and design mockups potentially for its own tablet.

Glen Murray, a UI designer for Google's Chrome browser, shows off what a Chrome tablet might look like. Here's the keyboard and screen.

Google those and see what the potential is for a touch tablet. Add multi-
modal voice and keypad input to take it even further.

Why is there a "Hacker New" option in the Side Tabs?

Mmmm... this is for nerds and not consumers?

Not impressed...

Looked pretty plain and dorky to me. I hope they can do better than that. A big white screen with their logo taking up most of the screen has zero "class" or style.
