Microsoft added a community channel to make socializing easier. The new channel lets you quickly find your friends, see what they're doing, and then make it easy to join in on the action.

What is with this absurd thought that 2D avatars of whatever you want should be replaced with these real life 3D versions? I always thought of avatars as a way to display your art, feelings, or to break through the realm of reality. I hope they will allow users to disable the new avatars and use the 2D ones or none at all.
I think it is great to see that thinking outside the box falls down to looking what others are doing and copying it... but hey! it is an improvement over the old design... and how about while at it why not allow the users (me one of them) to sell our used games to fellow xbox users?? could be a great services to the community.... this of course means providing value to your user base which not always is what they look for....
