Opera unveiled technology it calls Opera Unite, which lets your host Web sites directly from your own computer.

According to Larry Dignan, the idea behind Opera Unite is to take the client-server computing model and toss it into a browser. Your computer can share content with other PCs on the Web without servers.

..."SimpleServer" (AnalogX) was perfect as a simple web server... this is good stuff, and I'm sure MS, Apple, FireFox, Google, Google, Google and Google, along with the open source community exploiting the breakthrough in great detail... well done Opera!

I can clearly see a whole host of communications plug-ins coming for this.
