Hands-on with the HTC One X and One S

Summary: HTC announced their new 2012 lineup at Mobile World Congress with a focus on the One series. The One X and One S arrived for me to check out for a bit and all I can say is that I can't wait for the HTC One S to launch on T-Mobile USA.

  • There are two color schemes for the HTC One S and as you can see back of this model has a slick gray shading effect. It feels wonderful in the hand with the metal back and solid form factor.

  • The HTC One S has an 8 megapixel camera with a colorful blue ring around the lens. The flash is to the right of the camera lens.

  • The top of the HTC One S shows the power button, 3.5mm headset jack, and opening used to pry off the top for access to the microSIM card slot.

  • Step backwards with the battery

I think HTC created a great phone and then took a step backwards by not making the battery removable. That has been of my biggest issues with the iPhone. If you try to use the phone capabilities that are the selling point, you need either a spare/extended battery or you are going to be chained to a charger plug. What in the world were they thinking when they decided to go this route?

    • Agreed

I completely agree with you plus there's no SD card slot either. These basically have the same hardware downfalls that the Apple products have.
