Hands-on with the Nokia Lumia 800 and N9

Summary: The Nokia Lumia 800 is the first Nokia Windows Phone and it copies the Nokia N9 MeeGo device in terms of form factor, with just a couple minor differences. Is the Lumia 800 going to be the hit that Nokia and Microsoft need at this time?

  • The speaker is found on the bottom of both devices as you can see by the grille here.

  • The other obvious physical difference is the screen size and capacitive buttons. The Lumia 800 display is 3.7 inches due to the inclusion of the three capacitive touch buttons while the N9 is 3.9 inches.

  • The same excellent use of glass that wraps to the edges is found on the Lumia 800.

  • WTF?

The screen is WAY too small, and when is MS going to support full resolution Amoleds? Geez you guys are frustrating... You NEVER listen to the customers...

@Woned B. Fooldagan How about "the screen is way too small in my opinion"? Apple sells a lot of iphones with smaller screens. Just because it is too small for you, doesn't mean it is too small for everyone.

Let me guess in Mexico is going to be with Telcel only. Marketing decisions are horrible in Microsoft. Many carriers, many models. Unlocked ones preferably. Thinking in Android, is here a not doing marketing in Europe with crisis. Maybe 2 netbook, 1 laptop for that prices. Sorry olvely devices but marketing guys are on holiday! A year ago not even windows phone manager for the country. Great product, bad marketing worlwide! Every carrier says is planned stay in touch! We have the Samsung Focus for more than a year. Congratulations for the design. Apple marketing & deliverability Excellent, Android is good but Windows Phone a lot to learn. Even blackberry is already here with new models. Almost 20 models + the new ones & still waiting! congratulations grat design but decision takers are far from reality!
