Hands-on with the Nokia N8 Symbian^3 smartphone

Hands-on with the Nokia N8 Symbian^3 smartphone

Summary: The Nokia N8 is the first Symbian^3 smartphone from Nokia and has high expectations. After the N97 failed to impress last year, Nokia hasn't had a great high end device since the Nokia N95. After spending three days with the N8, I think every Nokia and Symbian user will appreciate it as the best Nokia has produced and be satisfied. I am not sure many iOS or Android users will switch, but there are some compelling reasons to consider such a switch.

If I ever wanted to leave behind a fingerprint at a crime scene that would finger you as the culprit, I certainly have a reference here that would let me fashion a partial!

  • THAT IS AMAZINGLY BEAUTIFUL AT FIRST SIGHT

That sure will beat an iPhone just by first sight in the short run.

Now what about the software and digital side of it? I can bet that when a user experiences the digital side of the splendid official Nokia phone and compares with a non-official iPhone 3GS (iPhone 4 is too buggy :P), in the long run, that user would rather go for an iPhone 3GS; unless of course that amazingly good looking Nokia phone is way cheaper.

Why? Because there are tonnes more features, beyond a phone, which the non-official iPhone has. For example, ever imagined using your phone as a high-speed wireless Wi-Fi hotspot for your laptop, in the middle of nowhere? Well that is possible with a non-official iPhone.

Nothing official can beat a non-official iPhone 3GS. PERIOD.
