HTC Merge
The HTC Merge made an appearance at CTIA 2011. The dual-mode (CDMA/GSM) world phone is expected to hit North American carriers this spring.

couple of notes here:

1. why some of the designers insists on putting the charging port on the side of the unit?
it is better to have it on the bottom so you can drop it into a holder/charger easier. specially car chargers.

2. what is with CDMA system? we should just drop this nonsense and move to GSM as most of the world did.

yup, too late... but there'll be that class of people who will still buy it. ****, if the $13,000.00 nokia phone had a buyer on ebay, this one will.

It has items that make it desirable but it looks to dated and the small screen and lack of extras makes it a passed on phone. Make it dual gsm/cdma with the looks and options of an Evo but with a better resolution, better camera flash, and duel processor and you got something.

dual CDMA/GSM would be massive for me personally, and haven't seen that before... everything else seems OK. Maybe not being current top spec means pricepoint will be decent.
I am starting to think that there are simpl too many HTC models with very little to separate them, and that's from a fan. It makes development and modifications like what has been historically found on XDA et al, gets spread much more thinly, which coupled with the proliferation of various Android flavours doesn't help overall.
