Image Gallery: Hands on with the RIM BlackBerry Tour from Verizon Wireless
Verizon Wireless customers have been waiting patiently for this device that brings a world capable (GSM and CDMA) new full featured smartphone to the carrier. The RIM BlackBerry Tour 9630 has an excellent keyboard (maybe the best in the current RIM lineup) that mixes the Bold and Curve 8900 into one slick keyboard. You will also find a 3.2 megapixel camera, 480x360 pixel screen, integrated GPS, and more.
The keyboard is a combo of the Bold and Curve 8900 so you get a fantastic keyboard in a smaller form factor than the Bold.
The keys have the angled design similar to the Bold.
The Tour is narrower than the Bold and similar in size to the Curve 8900.
The BlackBerry Tour has a newly designed back cover that works quite well for easy removal and access to the battery, microSD card, and SIM card slot.
The speaker is on the upper left with a convenience key available too.
The right side contains the microUSB port, 2nd convenience key, volume button, and 3.5mm headset jack.
The Palm Treo Pro, BlackBerry Tour, Nokia E71x and T-Mobile Dash appear in a stack with their left side and bottoms shown.
Here you can see the Tour is close in size to the Palm Treo Pro.
