This device from Sony, dubbed the NW-S23, is one of several MP3 players designed for athletes that was recently reviewed by Christopher Bergland, a three-time Triple Ironman champion. The 256MB device is described by Sony as water resistant and "skip proof." It comes with an armband strap and can play for 70 hours on one AAA battery, Sony says. The "Sony style" Web site is currently showing a price of $129.95 for the gadget.

  • With the Marware Bike Mount, a cyclist can strap an MP3 player to his or her handlebars, though Marware notes that the strap is "not suitable for the thicker handlebars of most exercise bikes and gym equipment." But with bikes that move, the device can be used to hold a music player still without scratching the bike, Marware says on its Web site. The mount costs $7.95.
