  • what an incredibly frustrating user experience...

Having the page refresh every single time I want to switch to the next image

Really?? Who cares. Holidays have you grumpy? It was a pretty sweet article. Now I wont be tempted to take apart a kinect if I decide to purchase one.

I do. It is a stupid, horrible interface, and makes me opt out of clicking through ZDNet picture galleries far more often than not.

I care, and I don't usually bother with things like this. They should do like on iFixit and other sites, where the thing is a slideshow that ONLY refreshes the window where the pictures are.... not the whole page.

@Anti Fanboy Add my name to the list of irritated users. Seriously, WTF ZDNet?! Every time I click on the next image, the page jumps back up. I just want to semi-mindlessly click a button. Is that so much to ask?

@ieeamo Couldn't agree more, it's frustrating, I never surf more than 3 images while JQuery gallery plugins are everywhere

Agreed about the interface. Ironic that the thumbnail strip scrolls nicely without a reload. Yet the requirement of refreshing (and thus readjusting the browser) after each picture click is more 2001 than 2010.

It's amazing what a little DIV, XML and AJAX could do.
