At least the battery is easier to replace than the iPad battery. If I can get a battery. That takes care of one issue I have.

Great presentation !!! I just hope I never HAVE to teardown a 600+ dollar item such as this. But it was very informative and very well documented.

  Lol it's not such a huge deal as its really made user friendly. i do repairs and refurbs and I rip down ipods and ipads daily as they are very poorly made and tend to break really easy and I know people for some reason pay that much for the ipads and new iphones. they definately aren't worth that but the xoom would be a pleasure to do work on it's designed very friendly.

I thought the presentation was very good. I assume that since I didn't see one here and haven't heard it discussed that the XOOM lacks a microphone. I know there is more data than voice over the cell phone networks today, but since this being sold by Verizon I would think a mike would be included.

  @akeller728 There IS a microphone. If you look at picture 15, showing the bottom edge, look to the right of the main panel of ports for the tiny little hole. That's it.
  
  Now, aside from being in a lousy position, my understanding is that the pick-up is really weak, so don't expect much out of it. If you're doing a lot of VoIP with this, it sounds like you'll want to pick up either a wired headset with a built-in mic to plug into the 3.5mm audio jack, or a Bluetooth headset.

Still not up to the challenge against today's Tablet PCs.
