  • The start page acts as a dashboard for ordinary users of Office 365 to access Office Web Apps, collaborative SharePoint pages, the corporate website and setup applications to set up the desktop applications, like Outlook.

  • The desktop applications include Lync 2010 and a configuration program which sets up your Outlook with the relevant settings to your cloud-based corporate email.

  • Lync has a similar feel to older versions of Office Communicator and Windows Live Messenger, and on the whole is pretty comprehensive in its feature set. You name it, it can pretty much do it.

    Re comment for slide 11 hell get your facts right! All users now have 10GB of email storage in Live@Edu. This has been guaranteed to continue in the transition to Office 365 for Edu, it even looks like inboxes for all Office 365 edu user are going to 25GB<br><a href="http://www.microsoft.com/liveatedu/learn-about-office-365.aspx?locale=en-US&country=US#2" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">http://www.microsoft.com/liveatedu/learn-about-office-365.aspx?locale=en-US&country=US#2</a>

    365 has a nice interface and MS has definitely improved some things. However, at $72/user/yr with Sharepoint the only office app included, it's not enough value compared to Google Apps for Business.
