James Bond's 1964 Aston Martin DB5 coupe is going on sale in January 2006 for the first time in 35 years. The unofficial star of "Thunderball" and "Goldfinger" is being sold by RM Auctions on behalf of the Smoky Mountain Car Museum of Pigeon Forge, Tenn. The sale of Bond's car and other famous autos will take place at the Arizona Biltmore Resort & Spa in Phoenix.
Formerly the property of Sir Anthony Bamford, 007's Aston Martin is one of about 100 vintage cars going up for sale in January. Others include a 1941 Chrysler Thunderbolt and a 1955 Maserati 300 S Sports Racing Car that was originally sold to Swiss racing champion Benoit Musy. The Bond car has been on display at the Smoky Mountain Car Museum since the late 1970s.
