The Asus W2Jc has an aluminum chassis, a subwoofer built into the base and a hybrid TV tuner that has a digital and analog receiver.

"You can record TV onto a buffer on the hard disk, and Dolby home-theater technology is built in," Chang said.

The W2Jc is based on Intel's Centrino Core Duo T2500 chip, running at 2GHz, and costs $3,500.
