Russian rocket power
For a mere $100 million, privately owned Space Adventures is selling tickets for a round trip to the moon. The company has entered an agreement with Russian space officials to build a vehicle for a pilot and two very rich tourists. This Soyuz rocket launched an earlier Space Adventures client into orbit.
Soyuz
The trio will travel in a cramped Soyuz craft that will pick up a booster rocket when it achieves Earth orbit.
Greg Olsen
Greg Olsen, who is currently training and scheduled to go into orbit in October from Space Adventures, says the moon flight is intriguing to him.
Training on Soyuz
The cost of the trip includes training in a mock Soyuz spacecraft.
Weightless
Training will also include suborbital flights where the passengers will experience the weightlessness of space
Earth rise
Will people be willing to pay a fortune to relive the Apollo 8 mission and see the Earth rise from beyond the lunar surface?
